The Kson story begins with quality optics and the observer in mind.

With each Kson Newtonian style telescopes, each sets of lens or mirrors are tested using the Ronchi star test. Kson require, at least 1/4 wave as our minimum standard to allow for diffraction limited resolution of optical products even on base models. Mirrors are then coated with Aluminium, and then SiO2 to protect the surface for many years of use.

Kson uses more metal in the production their telescopes. You will find we use metal for our focusers for greater control. The front and rear mirror cells are made of die-cast material to hold the mirrors more securely. Even the Accessory trays are metal for greater tripod stability. The Quick set-up tripods take 2-3 minutes for most people to set up and do not require the use of tools. No more looking for that allen key or shifter.

Eklipse ED lens are coated with wideband multi-coating for higher transmission rates, to allow 99.5% of available light into the membrane layer. The high focal ratios of the Eklipse ED telescopes allow for shorter exposure times during astrophotography sessions, and thus less transmission of electronic of noise. This gives them an advantage over many other ED scopes.

Ekcentrik Goto products use precision stepper motors instead of (DC brush motors), with 64 micro stepper technologies. The Standard Ekcentrik Goto mount, has 4,128,000 steps per revolution (360 degree). The Ekcentrik Advanced Goto or Wedge Goto mounts, have up to 17,200,000 steps per revolution allowing up to 0.075 arc sec accuracy whilst tracking an object.

Ekcentrik Goto mounts also use all metal parts in their construction, including metal bearings (8 or more), and brass made worm gears, which are stress tested and treated. This provides you with a more accurate and durable product, which is less prone to failure.

The higher positioning algorithm and operations used in the alignment process of the Ekcentrik Goto mounts, allow for accurate alignment using one star only. This allows for quicker alignment and less confusion when choosing stars to align on, as the controller only lists a few of the brightest star that are currently visible. And if you need to realign for some reason, it’s quick to do realignments.
